Direct recovery of fraud losses can often be challenging and time-consuming. However, hiring a forensic accountant can help streamline the process while effectively managing investigation costs. Base Hourly Rate
Rates vary between $200 to $500 an hour based upon complexity of your specific case. An average divorce engagement would cost approximately $300 an hour for 15 to 20 hours plus expenses (i.e. travel, etc). Average rates are $400 an hour for testimony, trial prep, and litigation support. Average rates for fraud investigations are $350 an hour, plus expenses.
Retainer
All clients are required to remit a retainer equivalent to one month's estimated fees in advance. This retainer will be applied towards your balance, enabling you to budget more effectively for projected costs. Please note that additional retainer fees may be necessary as your case progresses, should the expenses exceed the previously paid amount.
Project-Based Fees
In certain scenarios, forensic accountants may charge a flat fee for a specific project. This model is beneficial when the scope is learn with a well-defined tax with clear objectives.
